1.     Create a weekly menu to help you stay organised and prevent over buying 

2.     Keep note of the use by and best before dates on your food and ensure you are using the food with the earliest dates first 

3.     Why not try making a soup, stock, sauce, or dip with any vegetables looking a little worse for wear

4.     Use your fridge smartly! Some foods such as bread, bananas, and potatoes are better kept outside the fridge 

5.    Keep the stems of certain vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, beetroot, and broccoli in water to keep them fresh for as long as possible 

6.    Freeze any extra portions or food items that are going to waste. Nowadays you can freeze near enough everything and it is a great way to cut down waste!

7.    Storing your food correctly in air tight containers can prevent it from spoiling and leaves it fresher for way longer

8.     Regularly check your fridge temperature. It should always be between 0-5C
