Want to know more about our Recycled White Card?

Our recycled white card is a sustainable, eco-friendly option for various crafting, printing, and business needs.

It is made in the UK from UK recycled paper fibers - so it helps reduce waste and supports sustainable forestry practices.

Here are some key features:

  • Eco-Friendly: The card is made in the UK from UK post-consumer waste, meaning it repurposes paper products that would otherwise go to landfills. This process conserves resources and energy.
  • Versatility:  Our recycled white card is available in 180gsm and 220gsm weights so is popular for crafting, greeting cards, packaging, and business stationery. It provides a sturdy surface suitable for both professional and personal projects.
  • Aesthetic Appeal: While it may not always have the bright, bleached look of non-recycled card, recycled white card typically has a soft, natural tone. This look adds a unique, eco-conscious aesthetic to products and designs. We sometimes refer to it as off-white in colour.
  • Print Quality:  Recycled white card can handle high-quality printing well, which makes it suitable for creating items like business cards, wedding invitations, and art prints. It can be used in laser and inkjet printers (just check the specification for the best weight to use for your machine)Printing on recycled white card
  • Texture and Durability: Its slightly textured surface may differ from traditional smooth card, providing a tactile element to projects. This makes it great for rubber stamping, acrylic paints, lino printing and many other crafts. It will add something special to most projects  - why not try for invites, menus or card making?

What thickness of Recycled White Card is best for me?

Here at the Recycled Paper Company we stock recycled white card in two weights. The weights of 180gsm and 220gsm for our recycled white card refer to the thickness and sturdiness of the material, measured in grams per square meter (gsm). Here’s a breakdown of each weight:

180gsm Recycled White Card

230 micron recycled white card

180gsm Recycled White Card falls into the medium-weight category for cardstock. It’s thicker and more durable than standard printer paper but still flexible enough to be cut, folded, and handled easily.

This weight is ideal for projects that require a bit more sturdiness than paper but don’t need a thick, heavy card.

It works well for:

  • - Flyers and brochures with a quality feel
  • - Greeting cards and invitations
  • - Crafting, such as origami or paper flowers
  • - Sketching, as it holds inks and light paints well
  • - Certificates or awards

The 180gsm recycled white card provides a nice balance of flexibility and durability. It’s also more economical than thicker cardstock, making it a great choice for bulk printing or crafting projects.

220gsm Recycled White Card

280 micron recycled white card

220gsm recycled white card is noticeably thicker and stiffer than 180gsm card, giving it a premium feel compared to lighter weights. While it’s not as rigid as very heavy cardstock, it holds its shape well and is less prone to bending or curling.

The 220gsm recycled white card is perfect for applications that require durability and a high-quality appearance.

Typical uses include:

  • - Business cards, which need to be sturdy and long-lasting
  • - Packaging for small, lightweight items
  • - High-end invitations or event cards
  • - Photo frames or small DIY construction projects (e.g., lanterns)
  • - High quality prints (lino/mono etc) for selling

The 220gsm recycled white card weight is sturdy yet workable, giving it a professional, substantial feel. Its thickness is enough to handle heavy printing, painting, or embellishments, making it ideal for projects that need durability.
